Youth Ministry & Leadership Teams – High School Kids…want to be accepted and have a feeling of belonging??? Want to be Full members of the Parish Community?

Join one of our Leadership teams: Junior High LT, Outreach LT, Youth Task Force, Motivational Speaker.

There are many Leaders, some quiet and some not so quiet, we plan on bringing everyone’s gifts together to plan and organize events for, by, and with our High School students!

The Leadership Teams are comprised of a core group of High School students that will plan and organize various events and activities for the Youth of the Parish and community.

These activities and events will come from the students with the support of adults.

Youth Group Calendar of Events

  • February 24-26: International Student Leadership Institute at the Fatima Center, Dalton, PA. Deadline to register is February 13th. Open to High School students. Please call OPL at (570) 207-2213 for information.
  • April 13-14: 3rd Annual N’ap Danse Ansamn. The all-night dance marathon is in planning stages.
  • July 17: Annual Light the Fire Youth Rally – Watch for details.

We are also planning Easter activities and are seeking volunteers for the Good Shepherd Breakfast the first Sunday of the month and St. John Bosco annual Flea Market in May.

Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity

Our youth will be making their annual journey to West Virginia to participate in the Habitat for Humanity Program. We will leave from NE PA on Sunday, July 21 and return on Saturday, July 27, 2012. The cost of the trip is $355 per person. All spots have been reserved for our combined group of Good Shepherd, St. John Bosco, and St. Mary. Names are being taken for a waiting list. Deadline for final payment and reservations is June 14, 2012. Please call Molly at 868-5855 or 262-4628 for paperwork and/or information.

New Members Welcome

The Combined St. John Bosco/Good Shepherd Youth Group welcomes all students in grades 7 through 12 to join us in our activities. We combine faith, fun, and friendship with service to others. For more information, call or text Peggy McAndrew at 956-7094 or Pam Synoski at 401-4109.
